Who's Who in World War I (Who's Who Series) Review

This book is well written and researched. It is a great quick reference to keep track of the names of political and military leaders during First World War. For this reason I recommend it.

As a Kindle book, it is maddening to try to get to a specific name. The book uses an alphabetical format, but even the "search" function does not take the user directly to a certain name or letter, but rather everywhere the search term appears. Links from a list of names would solve this, but apparently nobody has thought to add this feature.

I overcame this to some degree by going to the location for each letter (A,B,C...) on Kindle for PC,and adding a note to the letter, then synced to my Kindle 3. I open my notes, go to the first letter of the name I want, and page down from that starting point.

This is a great book. In telling the story of Perestroika Boettke talks about the failure of communism and central planning. He also talks about why and how communism was able to last for as long as it did. The book is deep and full of broad knowledge. There is a lot of sociology. There's even a bit of anthropology in that parts of it remind me of Hedrick Smith's _The Rusians_.

It isn't worth $185. Routledge, like Edward Elgar, always charges way too much for these things.
