I am a 3rd year postdoc in the field of neurosciences. I am interested in olfaction, innate behaviors and neural circuits. Recently I ordered this book and I am generally happy with it. It reads ok and it touches some of the basics. It can give you a good overview, but it does not go into detail. I would not recommend buying it if you already have a good overview on the topic.
