1. I own Cantor's book, Environmental Impact Assessment and just purchased Eccleston's book by the same name. Having worked in this field for many years, I would hazard to guess that these are the two best books for this subject on the market. Yet, they approach the subject from very different directions. Cantor describes how to actually access and calculate environmental impacts. Eccleston on the other hand describes how to actually develop the documents i.e., what evidence is needed, what are the best professional practices for preparing defensible analyses; his treatment of how to assess cumulative impacts and greenhouse gas emissions is not only timely, but it is arguable the best guidance available. In the end, Cantor's and Eccleston's book do a good job of complementing each other. After nearly 25 year of practice, I thought I knew EIA pretty well, yet I learned quite a bit from this book. Sometimes you can teach old dogs new tricks!
