Christopher Sterling has provided a comprehensive review of radio in the U.S., adding to his impressive collection of publications on broadcasting. This book includes a wealth of information and is an excellent resource.There is one small error on page 61 regarding William Conrad. Sterling mentions that Conrad attended "Fullerton Junior College" and adds in parentheses "now California State University Fullerton." This is not accurate -- Fullerton College is a two-year community college with an outstanding radio program. California State University Fullerton is a four-year university (not far from Fullerton College), with a bachelor's degree program in Radio-TV. However, the emphasis of the CSUF program is on television and film -- not radio.
Fullerton College opened as "Fullerton Junior College" in 1913 and changed its name to "Fullerton College" in 1972.
