</p>Scuba Diving Tourism (Contemporary Geographies of Leisure, Tourism and Mobility) Review
This fairly new publication compiles and show cases the findings of several researchers who have devoted their careers into understanding and recording the evolution and rise of the scuba diving tourism industry (one star for the pioneers work).Scuba diving Tourism, is a must have for Course directors, Business owners and operators in tropical and temperature environments. It provides a glimpse into what nation States may be required to do to ensure the sustainability of the sector (another star here for its possible use in policy development and ocean governance)
This cleverly structured book explores the predilection that certain readers have towards having summaries in between chapters. One star here, it could have been 2, but I found that having a summary in the begging of the book, the end of each chapter and the end of the book over doing it. By the end of the book before the last chapter I had a series of ideas of how I would "mix" the different ideas into something that would make sense for my context, after reading the final chapter I sort of got a bit disappointed. The last chapter felt like I was being lead to make the connections between the many pertinent points in the book, I would rather make these connections myself based on my experience as a diver and a biologist looking to learn more about the future of the industry.
The reference list in chapter 6 seems to be missing author's mentioned in in text references, which is something that ought to be corrected in coming editions. (Lost a star here). In spite of giving it 3 stars. I do not regret having bought it, read it and have recommend it to other colleagues.
